How To Install Europa Retractable Patio Cover

Tools needed:
  • Electric drill
  • Hammer Socket set with 9/16", 1/2" and 11/16" drives
  • Level
  • Tape Measure

Follow these simple directions to insure an accurate, secure installation of your new Retractable Patio Cover:

  1. Lay the unit on the ground below the mounting area.
  2. Determine where the awning is going to be mounted, remembering to find the header or studs, or mount on fascia board.
  3. Space the supplied mounting brackets evenly across the width of the awning and install each bracket. Make sure brackets are installed exactly on the same plane across the width of the awning. Use two (2) 3/8" x 4" lag bolts and 1" washers for each bracket. Make sure each bracket is tight against the wall and level to the ground.
  4. Simultaneously lift the entire awning and slide back bar into the mounting brackets. Install 1/2" x 3" locking nut. Bolt through the front of the bracket. Do not leave the awning or move it until all brackets have been secured with this nut and bolt.
  5. Roll out awning to its full projection, using either the hand crank or motor. Adjust it to the desired level using an 11/16" ratchet on the single bolt pitch adjustment, located under the arm support. Rotate the bolt clockwise to raise the pitch and counter clockwise to lower the pitch.
  6. Crank or motor the awning in and out several times to familiarize yourself with how the awning should look when completely projected. Fabric should always roll out from the top of the roller tube and never from the bottom. Awning is fully projected when the arm elbow locks. If the awning is rolled out any further than this, the fabric will become loose.
  7. If the valance is not already installed, remove (1) end cap of the front bar with a Phillips head screwdriver, slide the valance into the slot, then replace the end cap.
